1. Illustrative vs. Production Guidance
Unless explicitly denoted as a hardened production blueprint, all configuration samples (.hiac files), exported Terraform configurations (main.tf), shell commands, and architectural guides on this website are provided for demonstration, educational, and testing purposes.
- Security architecture audits and threat modeling.
- IAM least-privilege scoping to ensure credentials cannot perform unauthorized actions.
- Network boundary validation (verifying no unintended open CIDRs like
0.0.0.0/0). - Disaster recovery, snapshot, and backup verification.
2. Cloud Billing and Cost Estimation
TellIaC provides a built-in cost estimation command (telliac cost). This command calculates estimated monthly expenditure using public baseline pricing formulas for standard compute instances, managed Kubernetes clusters, and database hours.
Cost estimates are non-binding approximations only. Actual cloud provider invoices depend on variables that cannot be fully predicted ahead of time, including:
- Data transfer and network egress bandwidth volume.
- Dynamic auto-scaling events and IOPS utilization.
- Regional pricing variances, promotional discounts, and reserved instance agreements.
- Spot instance market fluctuations and taxes.
TellIaC and its contributors accept zero responsibility or liability for cloud provider charges, overages, or billing disputes resulting from provisioned infrastructure.
3. Third-Party Trademarks and Independence
TellIaC is an independent open-source software project. Reference to any third-party commercial services, cloud providers, or trademarks does not constitute an endorsement, partnership, or affiliation:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a registered trademark of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
- Microsoft Azure is a registered trademark of Microsoft Corporation.
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a registered trademark of Google LLC.
- Kubernetes (K8s) is a registered trademark of The Linux Foundation.
- Terraform and HCL are registered trademarks of HashiCorp, Inc.
TellIaC does not claim official certification, vendor accreditation, or sponsored partnership status from any of these entities.
4. State Files and Security Isolation
Terraform state files and TellIaC state stores contain cryptographic signatures and exact metadata for provisioned resources, and may occasionally contain sensitive references (such as generated resource IDs, internal IP addresses, or database connection strings).
It is the user's sole responsibility to configure appropriate remote backend encryption (e.g., SSE-S3 or KMS on Amazon S3) and access controls to prevent accidental exposure of state files in version control or public storage buckets.
